I am Sonia Dumitrescu. My origines are from Romania, I was born on the 31.12.1993 in Luxembourg and raised there until 2014. Through my teenage years, I gathered experience in painting at Ecole d'Art Contemporain. Then I did a Bachelor's and a Master's degree at Institut Supérieur des arts de Toulouse in France. During these studies, I also did an Erasmus at Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma in Italy. Besides my studies, I’ve been half my life into introspection, the process of creation and the research of what is beyond the material. The mediums that I currently use in my artistic process are : drawing/painting, qi gong, rollerskate, animal flow, meditation, dance and walking. I use this site as a safe space, a bridge towards the Unknown, a tool to expand consciousness and a playground for imagination. Since 2021, I’ve been sharing this passion for creation through individual/collective workshops or teachings in highschools/museums.

The favorite part of my daily life is to encounter Creatures. The cat on both pictures is called Cosmo, his name emerged from the spiral on his fur. I met him after I created the drawing which serves now as a logo for Little Cosmo. The resemblance of the drawing and the cat were surprising to me. Therefore, I chose to dedicate the workshops to Cosmo who has been a very special Encounter. Little Cosmo reflects the microcosm which takes shape during the process of creation.

The source of V-creature comes from a stick-and-poke tattoo which I got on my left hand when I was 13 years old. I was not aware of the symbol's intention back then, I just remember having had a longer phase in which I was drawing " > " as a tag and signing some drawings with it. The moment it appeared on my skin, " > " became more personal and visible. I only started to question this symbol in my early 20s when I was asked by someone " if > means V as Victory ? ". After some time, " > " evolved into " V ", which then transformed into " V-creature " through a painting called Shift. That painting was created during a triggering period in 2020 – putting the V as a shape in the upper part of the canvas felt very comforting. Soon after, I let this symbol unfold and guide me through the insights which it has been awakening since.
